General Contractors: Be Kind!
Crestview Builders has been in business for 33 years. We are general contractors with an inhouse team of interior designers. There are projects that require that we sub out work. As a rule of thumb, it seems as if many general contractors are "crusty." They can appear gruff and macho. When we encounter a subcontractor that has this demeanor, we pass. Friendly consumer service is an essential part of our business platform. Dean Swank, Crestview Builder's GC, is featured in the post with our
"Foreman," Biscuit. They both possess a positive, friendly and kind presence on the job.

Lake Arrowhead General Contractor: Dean Swank
When you are making a decision about what contractor to hire it is vital that you:
1) Verify their license
2) Ask for a certificate of workers compensation if they have employees
3) Ask for a certificate of general liability insurance-We recommend a contractor carry at least a two million dollar policy.
4) Ask to see a portfolio of their work.
5) Ask for references-and call their references.
If you use these steps there is less of a chance of being scammed.

Create A Modern Mountain Home In Lake Arrowhead
Far too many homes built and furnished in the 1980’s resemble the “rustic-meets-mountain-meets-too-much-wood look.” However, if you start with good bones (good quality materials and relatively un-offensive finishes) you can transform your home into a bright, modern 21st century home with lots of individuality.
Crestview Builders Interior Design Team recommends that you consider designing your mountain home with clean lines of modern contemporary style, and preserve the warmth of a luxurious mountain retreat. These are our recommendations:
1. Blend the natural beauty of the outdoors with clean, sophisticated lines and use open contemporary spaces.
2. Your open floorplan will that bring outdoor beauty inside your home. This will lighten up overall designs.
3. Use a wide variety of materials and textures this will achieve the warmth and charm alongside the elegant, contemporary styling.
Example: natural stone delivers the ruggedness of the mountains, while the sleekness of steel provides an industrial edge. Use a variety of woods with varying finishes, including a wire-brushed wood.
4. Blend neutral colors with bursts of vibrant color to infuse the home with life and vitality. The seasons of the year will appear to flow seamlessly as you encounter enticing ranges of color from soft winter greys to touches of spring and summer’s greens, and then back to the warm oranges of fall. Play with the Dunn-Edwards Instant Color App to explore colors: Base, Accent, and Trim.
